This agreement sets out the rights and obligations between members who use the MüzayedeBox online auction platform (the "Platform") and the company operating the Platform ("MüzayedeBox"). By becoming a member or placing a bid, you are deemed to have accepted this agreement. Current version: 2026-10.
1. Definitions
- Platform: the online auction service provided through the muzayedebox.com domain and its extensions.
- Member: a natural or legal person registered on the Platform with an email address. A member who bids is a buyer; a member who lists lots with an approved seller account is a seller.
- Auction: a sale made up of a given seller's lots, with a pre-bidding period and an announced live round time.
- Lot: an item or group of items sold on its own in an auction.
- Bid: a binding offer made by a buyer for a lot. The ceiling is the highest amount the buyer agrees to pay for that lot and is kept secret.
- Hammer price: the price of the lot at the moment the hammer falls in the live round; it is the sale price.
- Secret minimum sale price: the floor price, not shown to buyers, below which the seller does not agree to sell.
- Secure Payment (escrow): the amount paid by the buyer being blocked with a licensed payment institution until the delivery and inspection process is complete.
2. Nature of the Platform
MüzayedeBox is an intermediary service provider within the meaning of Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce. The sales contract is concluded between buyer and seller; MüzayedeBox is not the seller of the goods sold and is not liable in place of the seller for defects, authenticity or legal compliance of the goods.
MüzayedeBox's obligations are to run the auction in line with the rules, hold the amount paid by the buyer in escrow, carry out the delivery and dispute process, and decide disputes based on the information and documents submitted by the parties.
3. Membership
- Membership is open to natural persons aged 18 or over with capacity to discern, and to legal persons.
- Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to the registered email address; no password is used. The member is responsible for the security of their email account.
- One person may use one account. If the same person is found to bid with more than one account, all of the accounts may be closed and the bids placed with them cancelled.
- Before bidding, the profile is completed: name and surname, a declaration of being 18 or over and acceptance of the current version of this agreement. When the agreement changes materially, the new version must be approved again before the next bid.
- The member accepts that the information they provide is accurate and up to date. False information is grounds for suspending the account.
4. Bidding rules
Every bid placed is binding and cannot be withdrawn. Placing a bid is a firm offer to buy the lot at that amount.
- Proxy bidding (ceiling): the buyer enters the highest amount they can pay; the system raises only as much as needed as competing bids arrive. Every amount reached up to the ceiling is the buyer's bid. The ceiling is not shown to the seller or to MüzayedeBox staff.
- Bid increments follow the table published on the Platform for each price range.
- Bid limit: for new accounts (7 days), the total of ceilings on open lots where the account is leading plus unpaid orders is limited to 50,000 ₺. MüzayedeBox may set a user-specific limit based on its risk assessment.
- A seller may not bid on their own lot, and MüzayedeBox staff may not bid on any lot. This rule is enforced by the system.
- Suspicious bids: if price inflation, bidding with linked accounts or misuse of the system is detected, MüzayedeBox may cancel the bids concerned, recording the reason; the lot is recalculated with the remaining bids.
5. Pre-bidding period and live round
Every auction has a catalogue (pre-bidding) period and an announced live round time. The pre-bidding period ends at the live round time; it is not extended.
In the live round, lots open in lot-number order. A lot starts at the closing price of the pre-bidding period; ceilings entered during pre-bidding remain valid in the live round. The hammer time for each lot is 30 seconds and every bid that comes in restarts the timer. When the time runs out with no new bid, the lot is sold to the highest bidder, provided the secret minimum sale price, if any, has been met. If the minimum price is not met, the lot is not sold.
The seller or MüzayedeBox may pause the live round; during the pause no bids are accepted on the lot under the hammer, and the pause lasts at most 30 minutes. In the event of a technical failure, payment infrastructure outage or suspicious activity, MüzayedeBox may temporarily stop accepting bids, postpone the auction or cancel it; bids placed in a cancelled auction have no effect.
6. Payment obligation
The buyer who wins a lot completes payment within 48 hours of the sale. Payment is made by card at the payment step, after the pre-information form and the distance sales contract have been approved.
An order not paid on time is cancelled automatically, a violation is recorded on the buyer's account and the lot may be offered to the second-highest bidder. An account with three violations is closed permanently.
7. Secure Payment (escrow)
The amount paid by the buyer is not transferred directly to the seller; it is blocked with a licensed payment institution. The amount is transferred to the seller only:
- When the buyer confirms receipt of the item,
- When the inspection period after delivery ends without a dispute (10 days with shipping, 24 hours with hand delivery),
- If a dispute has been opened, when it is resolved in the seller's favour.
The moment a dispute is opened, the transfer stops; the amount does not move until a decision is made. On transfer, commission and deductions are taken from the seller's share.
8. Delivery
Within 5 business days of the payment being placed in escrow, the seller carefully packs and ships the item and enters the tracking number on the Platform, or meets the buyer for hand delivery. The shipping process and its cost belong entirely to the seller; the Platform does not provide a shipping service and no shipping charge is taken from the buyer.
With hand delivery, the buyer generates the delivery code and the seller enters it on the Platform; delivery is not deemed to have taken place until the code is entered. The buyer should not share the code before seeing and receiving the item.
The item is delivered within 30 days of the formation of the contract at the latest. If this period is exceeded, the buyer may terminate the contract and the amount paid is refunded from escrow.
9. Disputes
The buyer may open a dispute from the order page within the inspection period. Grounds for a dispute:
- The item was not delivered,
- The item differs materially from its description on the lot page,
- The item is fake or a copy,
- There is undeclared damage or a flaw.
Flaws clearly declared on the lot page, personal taste and regret about the price are not grounds for a dispute. MüzayedeBox reviews the parties' statements, photos and documents and decides in favour of the seller, a full refund in favour of the buyer, or a partial refund; the return of the item and return shipping are set out in the decision. This decision does not remove the parties' right to go to court or to the consumer arbitration committee.
10. Seller obligations
- A seller account is opened by application; MüzayedeBox reserves the right not to accept an application.
- The seller accepts that they own, or are authorised to sell, the item they list, and that the catalogue record, condition, provenance and photos are accurate and complete.
- A seller who sells as a commercial activity fulfils the seller obligations in Law No. 6502 and the related regulations (pre-information, invoice, right of withdrawal and returns).
- For registration-bound cultural property, a museum registration certificate and the notifications required by legislation are mandatory; in an auction containing museum-registered objects, the live round takes place at least 30 days after notification to the museum.
- A seller may not withdraw a lot that has received bids; where unavoidable, withdrawal is made by decision of MüzayedeBox.
11. Prohibited items and content
The following may not be listed on the Platform:
- Movable cultural property whose trade is prohibited under Law No. 2863 on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Property; objects from illicit excavation and treasure hunting,
- Items that are fakes or copies without this being clearly stated,
- Firearms, ammunition, narcotics and any goods whose sale is prohibited by law,
- Items and content that infringe third parties' intellectual property rights.
Lots go through an automatic compliance screening before publication; suspicious lots are put under human review. Members can report a lot they consider inappropriate from the lot page.
12. No off-platform deals
Buyer and seller may not move the payment or delivery for a lot they met over on the Platform to outside the Platform. Sharing phone numbers, email addresses, IBANs or messaging apps in lot questions is blocked. Payments made outside the Platform are not covered by Secure Payment; breaching this prohibition is grounds for closing the account.
13. Sanctions
In the event of a breach of this agreement, MüzayedeBox may, depending on the seriousness of the breach, issue a warning, suspend the account for a period or close it permanently. The reason for the sanction is notified to the member and shown on the account status page. A suspended account cannot bid or list lots; ongoing order obligations continue.
14. Fees
No premium or service fee is charged to the buyer. The commission and deductions charged to the seller are published on the Commission and Fees page and form part of this agreement. Fee changes apply to auctions starting after the date they are published.
15. Limitation of liability
MüzayedeBox takes the care needed for the Platform to work without interruption or error. It is not liable for interruptions caused by force majeure, internet infrastructure or third-party service providers, or for problems arising from members' own devices and connections. In the event of an interruption, the auction is stopped or postponed; no compensation can be claimed for bids that could not be placed during the interruption.
16. Personal data
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Notice. In bidding, your identity appears as a masked name and a permanent paddle number; your full name and email address are not shared with other members.
17. Intellectual property
The Platform's software, design and brand belong to MüzayedeBox. The seller permits the photos and texts they upload to be used to present the lot and for the Platform's archive (price archive, catalogue).
18. Notices
Notices between the parties are given through in-Platform notifications and the member's registered email address. Notifications that create payment, deadline or order obligations cannot be turned off.
19. Changes, governing law and entry into force
MüzayedeBox may update this agreement; the current version is published on this page. Material changes must be approved again before bidding and do not apply to auctions in progress.
This agreement is governed by Turkish law. In consumer transactions, the Consumer Arbitration Committees have jurisdiction within the monetary limits, and the Consumer Courts for disputes above the limits; for other disputes, the Courts and Enforcement Offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. The Platform's electronic records constitute evidence under Code of Civil Procedure No. 6100.
The agreement enters into force upon the member's electronic acceptance.
