Bidding
Every lot has an opening price and a bid increment. The increment grows as the price rises — for example 50 ₺ at 1,000 ₺ and 250 ₺ at 10,000 ₺.
Automatic bidding: instead of raising step by step, you enter the most you are willing to pay (your ceiling). The system raises on your behalf only as much as needed. If no one competes, you win at an amount below your ceiling. No one sees your ceiling — not even the seller.
What the market calls a "reserve bid" or "maximum bid" is your ceiling here. Your ceiling is secret and is only used as competing bids arrive.
Pre-Bidding and the Live Round
Every auction has a catalogue period and an announced live round time. While the catalogue is open, you place pre-bids or ceilings on lots. The pre-bidding period ends at the live round time; it is never extended.
In the live round, lots come up on screen in lot-number order and open at the price reached during pre-bidding. Each lot stays open for 30 seconds; every bid that comes in restarts the timer. If the time runs out with no new bid, the hammer falls and the lot is sold to the highest bidder. That is why sniping in the last second does not work: every bid leaves a full hammer period for others to respond.
The ceiling you entered during pre-bidding keeps working for you in the live round; you are protected even if you are not at your screen.
Bid History and Trust
Every lot's bid history is public: who bid, when and how much is shown to the second. Participants are listed with a masked name and a permanent paddle number (e.g. Ae · #1042*) — the same person's bids always show the same number, but their email or full name is never shared with anyone.
The Participants tab shows each person's membership date, phone verification, number of completed purchases and number of bids on that lot. So you can see for yourself that your competitors are real accounts with a history.
What is a proxy bid? If a participant has entered their maximum amount (secret upper limit) in advance, the system raises on their behalf as much as needed when a competing bid arrives. These bids are labelled "Proxy"; they are not a bot but an instruction given in advance by a real participant. They never rise unless a competing bid arrives.
The rules are enforced in the database, not the interface: a seller cannot bid on their own lot, and MüzayedeBox staff cannot bid on any lot. Neither the seller nor we can see secret upper limits; when a limit is exceeded, it appears in the feed as that person's last bid. An account that wins and does not pay receives a violation point, and at three violations the account is closed permanently — fake bidding has a cost.
Secret Minimum Sale Price
Some lots have a secret minimum sale price below which the seller will not sell. You cannot see the figure, only whether it has been met. If the hammer falls in the live round before this price is reached, the lot is not sold.
Note: this is the seller's floor. Your secret upper limit, on the other hand, is your ceiling.
After You Win
When the lot closes and the highest bid is yours, an order is created and you have 48 hours to pay. If you do not pay, the order is cancelled, a violation point is recorded on your account and the lot is offered to the second-highest bidder. At three violations the account is closed permanently.
There is no buyer's premium. The hammer price is the amount you pay; nothing is added on top, and shipping is paid by the seller. Commission is deducted from the seller.
Secure Payment
The amount you pay does not go directly to the seller; it is blocked in escrow. It is released when you receive the item and approve it. If there is a problem, you open a dispute and the automatic transfer stops.
Sellers
Selling is by approval only: only auction houses, galleries and specialist sellers whose applications have been reviewed and approved can list lots. You do not need to be a company; individuals can apply too.
Cultural Property Notice
Objects that qualify as cultural property requiring protection fall under Law No. 2863. Selling objects obtained through treasure hunting or illicit excavation is a crime. Every listed lot is screened before it goes live; in registration-bound categories a museum registration certificate is mandatory.
